Principal Statistician Opportunity at King's College London

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Statistician to join our team at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London. As a key member of our Mental Health & Neuroscience Clinical Trials statistics research group, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trials in the field of mental health research.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking mental health trials and research initiatives aimed at improving the lives of people with mental health conditions and brain disorders. You will be part of a dynamic centre dedicated to research methodology in mental health and brain disorders, working closely with clinicians and scientists to evaluate novel interventions and medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and interpret clinical trials in mental health research
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and funding applications
  • Collaborate with clinicians and scientists to evaluate novel interventions and medications
  • Develop and implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain data integrity and accuracy
  • Support teaching and training in quantitative methods to undergraduate/postgraduate students or applied health researchers
Requirements
  • PhD qualified in medical statistics, clinical trials, or a related field
  • Experience in the design, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trials, particularly in mental health research
  • Understanding of study design and analysis methods in epidemiology and medical statistics
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages commonly used in clinical trial research
