Chief Software Engineer – We are working with Burns Sheehan, a leading FinTech company, to find a Chief Software Engineer to report directly to the CTO. The Chief Software Engineer will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, defining and implementing the technical strategy for their high-volume, low-latency platforms.


The Chief Software Engineer will be responsible for developing the systems architecture, collaborating with business stakeholders and product leadership to evolve the technology vision in line with the company's technical and business goals. You will also play a key role within the wider engineering organization, supporting and guiding the engineers in their solutions while implementing process and best practice to drive quality and efficiency of delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of high-volume, low-latency platforms.
  • Develop and communicate the technology roadmap to engineering teams.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to drive quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product leadership to evolve the technology vision.
  • Support and guide engineers in their solutions.


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of defining and implementing technical strategy for high-volume, low-latency systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of designing systems architecture where scalability, performance, security, and reliability are key considerations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and product leadership.
  • Experience with Java and AWS.
