Fleet Engineer Job Description

South Central Fleet Services Ltd is seeking a skilled Fleet Engineer to join our team at our workshop facility in Didcot. As a Fleet Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining vehicles on behalf of South Central Ambulance Service, ensuring ambulances are available to support patients.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs of ambulances and other vehicles, adhering to SCFS Ltd standards.
  2. Prepare new vehicles for service and dispose of old vehicles.
  3. Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  4. Ensure health and safety protocols are followed, reporting hazards or accidents immediately.
  5. Attend training courses to enhance vehicle maintenance and repair skills.
  6. Make decisions on vehicle repairs in the absence of the Fleet Supervisor.
  7. Participate in the Duty Mechanic standby rota system.
  8. Contribute to income generation work relevant to Fleet maintenance operations.
Requirements
  • Relevant workshop experience involving all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Full driving license.
