Position Overview:

The University of South Wales is excited to announce an opportunity within the Cyber Innovation Hub, a collaborative initiative designed to enhance the cybersecurity landscape in Wales. This hub unites industry leaders, governmental bodies, and academic institutions to foster growth in the cybersecurity sector, aiming to train over 1,000 individuals and increase the sector's capacity by more than 50% by 2030.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Training Specialist for a fixed-term position to lead a series of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs focused on the Cyber Body of Knowledge (CyBOK). Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience in delivering high-quality educational content in areas such as IoT security, Operational Technology (OT) Security, and ICS/SCADA cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, and deliver innovative short courses aimed at enhancing cybersecurity skills for diverse audiences.
  • Conduct market research to identify demand for specific training programs.
  • Supervise and assess students enrolled in short cybersecurity courses.
  • Engage with industry and academic partners to promote the Cyber Innovation Hub's initiatives and expand course offerings.
  • Participate in departmental administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should hold a relevant PhD or a master’s degree in a Cyber Security discipline, or possess significant industry experience in training and education within this field. Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality instruction are essential. Flexibility to deliver training across various locations in Wales, including evenings and weekends, is also required.

Working Environment:

This position will be based primarily at the University of South Wales, specifically within the Cyber Innovation Hub, with opportunities to engage with various locations across Wales.
