Position Overview - Java AWS Technical Architect

Role Summary:

As a Java AWS Technical Architect, you will take charge of designing and implementing robust, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions utilizing Java and AWS technologies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to architect and deploy solutions that align with the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Guidance:

  • Design and architect cloud-centric solutions on AWS leveraging Java frameworks.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior developers and engineers.
  • Establish and implement architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices.

Solution Development:

  • Analyze intricate business challenges and convert them into comprehensive technical specifications.
  • Design and construct microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Produce high-quality code, ensuring it is well-documented, scalable, and secure.

Cloud Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and additional services.
  • Guarantee high availability and disaster recovery for solutions.
  • Optimize resource utilization and manage costs effectively on AWS.

Collaboration and Engagement:

  • Work in tandem with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and operational performance.
  • Participate in architecture review and planning sessions.

Performance Enhancement:

  • Implement strategies for performance tuning and optimization of cloud applications.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and system audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.

Continuous Development:

  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and AWS services.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, and others.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying cloud-native applications and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related Java frameworks.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) certification is advantageous.
