Production Line Support Specialist

Location: Scarborough

We are seeking a dedicated Production Line Support Specialist to enhance our operations at the Scarborough facility. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of all necessary parts, components, and materials to the production line. While a valid counterbalance Forklift Truck License, picker license, and/or class 1 HGV driving license are preferred, they are not mandatory for this position.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Production Line Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth receipt, delivery, and movement of materials to the production line in a safe and timely manner while embodying the core values of Alexander Dennis.

  • Prioritize the supply of materials to the production line.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels.
  • Update MRP (Syspro) systems in a timely manner.
  • Compile weekly pick lists for efficient operations.
  • Identify and report shortages to relevant stakeholders and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Report any damaged components and submit necessary documentation.
  • Dispose of obsolete items as required.
  • Organize and maintain line-side racking effectively.
  • Manage external carriers and couriers as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area, including waste disposal and spill management.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the work area at the end of shifts.
  • Operate forklift trucks and material handling equipment safely, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Follow daily forklift inspection procedures.
  • Ensure the timely return of reusable stillages.
  • Handle the safe disposal and recycling of packaging materials.
  • Support the Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams as necessary.
  • Collaborate across various product lines and with outsourcing partners.
  • Assist with cycle counting processes.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Possession of a valid counterbalance Forklift Truck License, showcasing proficiency in operating forklifts.
  • Experience in handling delivery vehicles with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to respond promptly and professionally to internal and external requests.
  • Proficient in computer systems, particularly MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
