Job Title: Principal Naval Architect

Job Summary:

  • Design and develop advanced submarine systems, utilizing expertise in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, and seamanship.
  • Support the largest shipbuilding programs in the UK, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge submarines.
  • Conduct research and development activities to drive innovation and improve capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of submarine systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Participate in sea trials, experiments, and commissioning activities to ensure the successful delivery of submarine systems.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer status with RINA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in naval architecture, shipbuilding, or a related field.
  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex ideas to stakeholders.
