About the Role:

The Grid Connection Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing the strategy for ensuring that new developments are able to achieve grid offers from designated Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). This involves working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless connection of new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement grid connection strategies for new developments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Work with DNOs to secure grid offers and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical expertise on electrical designs and grid connections
  • Manage and maintain relationships with DNOs and other key stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience in transmission and distribution, with a strong understanding of the UK/Irish grid system
  • Renewable energy project experience, including Solar PV, BESS, and Wind
  • Experience with high-voltage grid connections up to 132Kv
  • Knowledge of ENA/G59 grid applications
  • Established network and contacts with DNOs (UKPN, SSE, WPD, Northern Grid)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
