Grid Connection Engineer

Leap29 is seeking a skilled Grid Connection Engineer to play a pivotal role in connecting energy projects to the grid. As a key member of our development team, you will work closely with our Head of Connections to ensure the smooth integration of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying and assessing grid capacity for energy storage, demand, and generation projects across the UK.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver grid connections on time and within budget.
  • Provide updates to the Head of Connections and contribute to the broader project development team on grid and electrical engineering tasks.
  • Track and report on the progress and performance of grid connections.
  • Stay informed of evolving regulations and technology trends related to grid connections and energy project development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in energy project development, particularly in the grid connection and pre-construction phases.
  • Proactive approach to managing individual projects and accountability for their outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of the distribution and transmission grid systems and their role in energy project development.
  • Degree in engineering, preferably electrical, though other disciplines are welcome.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (for creating electrical single-line diagrams and related technical documents).
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
