Your Role

As a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, you will provide women and children with individualized support packages tailored to their unique needs. Your role involves:

  • Providing specialist advice and guidance to external agencies in line with company policy and relevant legislation.
  • Developing and delivering training internally and externally.
  • Ensuring risk is identified, and safety plans reflect the needs and wishes of individuals accessing support.
  • Providing proactive, short- to medium-term crisis intervention services through individual safety, support, and recovery planning.
  • Advocating for service users with agencies that can address domestic abuse.
  • Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role integrates within them.
  • Providing advocacy, emotional, and practical support and information regarding legal options, education, housing, health, finance, education, and support services such as adult services, children's services, and health visitors.
  • Collaborating with key agency partners to address the safety of high-risk victims and ensure their safety plans are coordinated, particularly with the MASH and MARAC.
  • Managing a caseload, ensuring each client receives trauma-informed, needs-led, risk-assessed service tailored to their individual requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contributing to monitoring and reporting information for the service.
  • Complying with GDPR/data protection legislation, confidentiality, and information sharing policy and procedures, as well as all legislation related to your work.
  • Supporting colleagues and partner agencies through awareness raising and institutional advocacy to provide the best possible service for clients.
