About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our client, a successful SME based in Cambridge. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including journals, prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, both short-term and long-range.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • VAT Returns: Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Third-Party Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other external partners.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop two members of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with divisional operational managers on day-to-day and ad-hoc projects, such as capital expenditure requests.
  • Annual Operating Plan: Prepare the first draft of the annual operating plan for review with the CFO.
  • Cost Centre Support: Provide financial support to the executive team, including variance analysis.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or part-qualified with relevant experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in financial management, with a strong background in accounts and financial reporting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
