Brio Digital is collaborating with a prominent player in the financial services industry, focusing on enhancing their mobile engineering capabilities.

We are in search of a skilled Android Developer to assist in the development of their mobile retail banking platform.

Position Overview:

  • Role: Android Developer
  • Salary: £65,000-£80,000
  • Location: London (2 days per week in-office)

Key Responsibilities of the Android Developer:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications tailored for the banking sector.
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to create seamless user experiences.
  • Implement and uphold secure, efficient, and scalable code utilizing Kotlin or Java.
  • Integrate with backend services through RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure application quality and performance through thorough testing and optimization.
  • Enhance the development process by automating and optimizing workflows using CI/CD methodologies.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and financial applications.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial concept to final deployment.

Experience Required for the Android Developer:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of the Android SDK and development tools.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, especially in financial application contexts.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with contemporary Android architectures (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
  • Understanding of mobile application security frameworks and best practices.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks for Android (e.g., Espresso, JUnit).
  • Previous experience in agile development environments.
