Our team is dedicated to innovative practices and a Recovery-oriented approach tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Working with individuals facing complex challenges related to substance use and criminal backgrounds within a custodial setting can be both demanding and fulfilling. This role offers a unique opportunity to positively influence the lives of those who are often marginalized and in need of support.

Key Responsibilities
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver a high-quality drug and alcohol recovery service tailored to the needs of our service users, in collaboration with Inclusion and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
Your role will involve providing a variety of psycho-social interventions that inspire and assist service users in achieving recovery and positive outcomes within a recovery-focused treatment framework.
You will work closely with clinical prescribing services to ensure that each service user's needs are met, emphasizing integrated collaboration as a fundamental aspect of our prison services.
Your responsibilities will include delivering a comprehensive drug and alcohol recovery service, which encompasses assessment, recovery planning, case coordination, and psycho-social interventions for individuals with substance use issues within the prison environment.
You will actively contribute to the prison's broader drug strategy.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or a commitment to pursue this qualification) or relevant experience in similar settings.
Desirable
- Relevant training or qualifications in associated fields such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Mapping Techniques, or Auricular Acupuncture.
Experience
Essential
- Prior experience in integrated working practices or with individuals facing substance use challenges.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of substances and their effects.
- Understanding of harm reduction strategies related to substance misuse.
- Ability to conduct assessments and develop recovery plans.
- Proficiency in maintaining records and statistical data.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with other professionals and establish connections with agencies both within and outside the prison system.
Desirable
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system.
