About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Assistant to join our team at Sanctuary Supported Living. As a General Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our retirement community, providing support to our customers and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake general duties as assigned, including maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, communal areas, and customers' flats
  • Assist with meal preparation and drinks service, adhering to food hygiene standards and ensuring customer needs are met
  • Maintain customer privacy and dignity, respecting their individuality and autonomy
  • Collaborate with customers, families, advocates, and staff to deliver high-quality services
  • Identify and report potential hazards and faults on site, ensuring a safe environment for all
  • Manage stock levels, restock as required, and ensure equipment is used in accordance with guidance notes

Requirements

  • Desirable: working knowledge and experience of general cleaning duties
  • Some experience of working in a domestic/catering environment
  • Level 2 diploma in housekeeping/catering, or willingness to work towards
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A general understanding of health and safety in the workplace
