Role Overview
- As a Sample Unpacking Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to meticulously unpack samples, ensuring that each is properly labeled and documented in accordance with our quality management protocols.
- It is essential to accurately register all samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring that all details are recorded in the appropriate registers to meet customer expectations within designated turnaround times.
- You will provide essential support to the laboratory by maintaining high customer service standards, which includes the management of sample storage, retrieval, and disposal.
- Ensure that all sample handling, storage, and disposal processes are conducted in a safe, traceable manner, adhering to relevant Health & Safety regulations.
- Receive samples and stock items delivered to the site, facilitating an efficient laboratory operation.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork between unpacking, registration, and laboratory teams to deliver a seamless service aligned with business objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date training records and matrices, ensuring that both your manager and auditors have accurate information regarding skill levels.
- Commit to continuous improvement by adhering to SGS's quality systems, ensuring that a high-quality service is consistently provided to customers and compliance with SGS procedures is maintained.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Minimum GCSE qualifications in Science, Mathematics, and English with grades A to C or equivalent.
- A valid UK driving license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Oil Industry is a plus.
