We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team at Defour Partnership as a Director of Governance. This is a unique opportunity to develop and lead our clinical governance strategy, working closely with our award-winning National Social Care Charity.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our clinical governance strategy, ensuring that our charity is compliant with relevant regulations and frameworks. This will involve working closely with our Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and managers to provide expert advice and guidance on clinical matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical governance strategy to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on clinical matters to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and managers
  • Lead and role model team culture that stimulates innovation, positive risk-taking, self-reflection, adaptability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure that our charity is kept informed of relevant national strategic issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners
Requirements
  • Proven experience operating effectively at Executive Level with a proven ability to plan strategically
  • Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, safeguarding, and quality assurance as it applies in Social Care
  • Depth of experience in social care and independent living
  • Relevant health, allied health or social work professional qualification (such as nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language, social worker) would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Current professional registration (such as NMC, HCPC) would be beneficial
  • Experience in and expertise in managing complex change processes while maintaining sustained improvement on performance
  • Experience in building organisational capabilities, including establishing a clear vision and direction and translation into successful outcomes
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver positive outcomes
  • Experience of leading teams to deliver outcomes (through direct and indirect reports)
  • Current knowledge of CQC and CI regulations, frameworks and inspection process
  • Deep sector knowledge of the care sector including regulatory and contractual frameworks and relevant legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people we support
  • Experience of carrying out regulated activity audits or inspections
  • Knowledge of Human Rights and Equality legislation
  • Excellent breadth and depth of knowledge of personalisation and inclusion agendas
