Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer (LV / MV) Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at GPW Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for our global manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with engineering disciplines to develop full electrical system designs
  • Prepare and manage design deliverables, including substation, MCC, control panel design packages, installation and cabling design, and test specifications
  • Prepare and manage technical specifications for installation of power systems, including single line diagrams, cable schedules, wiring schedules, and loop drawings
  • Manage project spend in accordance with approved budgets
Requirements:
  • Design of LV and MV systems
  • Protection setting and fault level determination
  • MCC/control panel design
  • Detailed installation design
  • On-site commissioning
  • Electrical and machinery safety
  • Factory acceptance testing
  • Project cost/planning control or management
  • Ability to create and work with electrical drawing packages and project documentation
Desirable Skills:
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and variable speed drive applications
  • Practical knowledge of Amtech (Trimble)
  • On-site installation management
  • Feasibility studies and budget preparation

The successful Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer will be flexible, willing to work away from home sometimes up to 1-2 months at a time, occasionally with little notice, and work additional hours as and when the business requires.
