Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse to join our award-winning specialist cardiology team at Spire Nottingham Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our cardiac service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cardiac nurse to take on a senior role and lead our cardiac team in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work closely with our consultant cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the highest levels of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead our experienced cardiac team to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care.
  • Work across various areas of the hospital, including cardiology pre-assessment, cardiac catheter lab, cardiac outpatients, theatres, and supporting the wards with cardiac patients.
  • Support the Cardiology consultants in clinics and utilise your inter-departmental communication skills to support your cardiology patients throughout the whole Spire Healthcare journey.
  • Undertake clinical procedures that require dexterity and accuracy, including scrubbing for a full range of complex interventional cardiology procedures and assisting with implantation of IABP, TAVI, and complex devices.
  • Support the non-invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department and act as a subject matter expert to other staff.
  • Provide cardiology support to ward and critical care patients and act as a subject matter expert to other staff.
  • Prepare the operating Hybrid theatre/anaesthetic room/outpatient cardiology suite for procedure in relation to instrumentation, equipment, and supplies required for specific cardiology procedures.
  • Run a cardiology list without supervision and supervise/mentor junior staff (subject to experience).
Requirements
  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice.
  • At least 3 years' experience within a cardiac catheter lab scrubbing for routine and complex cardiology procedures, including EPS ablation.
  • ALS trained.
  • Capable and confident, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and working patterns.
