If you are seeking a fulfilling role in Mental Health Care, WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

Working in Health Care can be incredibly rewarding as it allows you to positively impact individuals during their most vulnerable moments.

We are in search of experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Mental Health Transport Assistants with an engaging demeanor who are eager to enhance their skills within the Mental Health sector. While prior experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive bespoke accredited training will be provided by our dedicated team of seasoned trainers.

You should be a passionate, empathetic, and highly motivated individual who thrives in a close-knit team environment to deliver exceptional quality care to our patients. We take pride in fostering positive professional relationships with our patients and making a genuine difference during their time of need. If this resonates with your values, we would like to hear from you.

This role transcends mere driving; it involves guiding the patient on a journey from one setting to another with safety, care, respect, consideration, and empathy to ensure that transition is as smooth as possible. There may be instances when trained techniques need to be employed for the patients' safety, whether in a place of safety, a vehicle, or other environments. The job satisfaction stems from knowing that you have played a crucial role in their time of crisis.

WHO ARE WE?

Our journey commenced in 2012. We specialize in the provision of secure patient transport and continue to expand. We are passionate about our PROUD core values: Patient First, Respect, Openness, Unity, and Determination. We collaborate with NHS trusts, private settings, and operate within the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN).

We take pride in being the first, and currently the only, Secure Patient Transport company in the UK to achieve this high standard of RRN training and care we provide. We have celebrated a decade in business as a niche secure transport provider, highlighting our growth from one base in Sussex to covering the majority of the UK (including some international transfers) while celebrating the positive impact of our teams and the excellent service they provide, 365 days a year.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: SCUK is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity where everyone within the organization feels welcomed, respected, and valued as an individual and for what they contribute to the business. We all share the responsibility to behave inclusively towards colleagues, patients, clients, visitors, and members of the public in all our activities and to act as ambassadors for inclusion.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with a minimum of 12 months driving experience
  • Maintain Enhanced DBS
  • Excellent communication skills, including IT proficiency
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering genuine care
  • Demonstrate resilience
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail

In return, we offer:

Full Training: Including Patient Care, Patient Transport, De-Escalation Techniques, Physical Intervention, Handcuff training, First Aid, among others. Additional training opportunities are also available.

Support and Mentoring: To develop your skills and experience in the Mental Health field. We also offer diplomas and progression opportunities within the company to help you build a career you can be proud of.

Continual Professional Development (CPD): We actively encourage and nurture personal development, providing accredited qualifications (NVQ Diplomas) and access to training in specialized subjects within Mental Health.

Awards: We recognize employee performance through a peer nomination award known as the Care Awards, where winners receive an additional day off. We aim to acknowledge, encourage, and promote safe driving, rewarding our excellent drivers with gift vouchers on a monthly basis.

Suggestion Scheme: The voices of our teams are important to us, and we encourage everyone to submit ideas and suggestions for improvements within the company, with implemented ideas rewarded with gift vouchers.
