Position Overview
- Job Title: Refuge Assistance Specialist
- Working Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM or overnight shifts
- Compensation: £12.82 - £25.64 (inclusive of holiday pay)
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and oversee all maintenance and regular inspections
- Monitor surveillance systems
- Assess situations to determine the need for police or emergency service intervention
- Promote and facilitate client engagement
- Address any safeguarding concerns promptly
- Communicate effectively with clients according to their individual support plans
- Exhibit sensitivity and empathy towards each client's unique situation
- Ensure the safety and security of the premises through surveillance monitoring
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with individuals facing domestic abuse
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster supportive relationships
- In-depth understanding of challenges impacting the journey to independence, including mental health, substance use, and domestic violence
- Experience in harm reduction strategies
- Ability to design and lead group work sessions
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle
