About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join our team in Wales. As a key member of our influencing and advocacy team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of our influencing plan, with a focus on raising the profile and influence of Barnardo's amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development and influencing strategies
  • Produce high-quality reports and briefings to support policy and public affairs work
  • Monitor policy developments and engage with stakeholders to ensure Barnardo's voice is heard
  • Support reactive policy work, including responding to consultations and policy changes
  • Manage events and activities to publicise our work and build relationships with stakeholders
What You'll Need
  • Proven experience in policy and public affairs, with a strong understanding of the influencing landscape in Wales
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and briefings
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships with policy stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
