Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design engineering process for a specialized product set.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide design engineering expertise within contract terms or service level agreements, including planning, coordinating, and supervising major contracts.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing product designs, develop and deliver product roadmap changes, and new product developments.
  • Manage the knowledge management systems.
  • Address emerging design, quality, safety, and operational issues.
  • Oversee a portfolio of change projects, reporting progress to senior operational teams.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with system-level integration, FEAs, and strong mechanical skills.
  • Background and knowledge in materials science.
  • People management and supervisory experience.
  • BSc/MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Chartered engineer status.
  • Experience in product safety.

What We Offer:

This role will be in support of highly specialized and qualified products supplied to a global market. Security clearances may be required as this company operates in the defense sector. Therefore, British Nationals/suitable nationalities can only be accepted.
