Job Summary

This role oversees the engineering process for a specialized product set at Survitec, providing high-level expertise to drive product development and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how design meets customer needs, regulatory requirements, and commercial goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide expert engineering guidance within contract terms or service level agreements, planning, coordinating, and supervising activities related to major contracts.

• Identify design shortcomings, suggest improvements, and implement changes while developing and delivering product roadmap updates and new product development within Survitec's NPD and change management process.

• Manage the knowledge management system, contributing to its development with guidance from senior colleagues.

• Uncover emerging design, quality, safety, and operational issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues.

• Develop procedures and interpret and apply policy and regulatory requirements to own product area, ensuring product set keeps pace with or sets the pace for compliance and best practice, monitoring the impact of product developments and ensuring design remains commercially successful.

• Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services, making recommendations for development, replacement, or retirement, and may be responsible for supervising activities performed by other team members in service of overall product development.

• Manage a portfolio of change projects, reporting to senior colleagues.

• Recommend changes to policies, processes, standards, and practices that would improve operational support.

• Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business and customer needs.

• Understand, uphold, and contribute to creating a safety-first culture within Survitec.

Experience and Qualification

• Educated to University/Post-graduate master's degree level.

• 10 years of wide and deep general experience of providing expert engineering competence.

• 7-12 months experience of general supervision of more junior colleagues.
