Educational Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities

As an Educational Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in enhancing teaching and learning across diverse subject areas. Your duties will encompass:

Classroom Assistance: You will aid teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, providing individualized support to students, and facilitating small group activities.

Personalized Learning: You will closely work with students needing additional assistance, modifying teaching materials, and offering targeted interventions to ensure all students achieve their maximum potential.

Behavioral Support: You will help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging respectful behavior, and implementing behavior management strategies.

Assessment and Progress Tracking: You will assist teachers in evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback, and documenting student data to inform teaching strategies and interventions.

Extra-Curricular Engagement: You will contribute to the broader school community by participating in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports events, and school trips, fostering student engagement and personal growth.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in any discipline, reflecting your dedication to academic excellence.
  • A minimum degree classification of 2:2 is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, educators, and parents.
  • An enthusiastic and proactive mindset, showcasing your passion for education and your commitment to supporting student learning.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across various subjects and support different teaching methodologies.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a supportive school environment.
  • A DBS registered with the update service or the ability to apply through GSL Education.
