The Role:
As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring UK GDPR, PECR, and BCBS239 compliance. You will also be responsible for continuous improvements and maximizing the income and benefit of available data, increasing confidence and consistency in the quality of data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completion of data governance documentation, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), Cookie Privacy Assessments, and Legitimate Interest Assessments.
- Assessing data quality across BNP PF, completing root cause analysis where data is impacted.
- Managing multiple stakeholders and understanding technology and commercial concepts quickly, working closely with Risk and Finance teams to ensure BCBS239 compliance and working closely with IT and marketing teams to manage cookies.
- Identifying areas of improvement in local practices, relative to managing data governance.
- Contributing to complex projects, orientating the project to deliver maximum business benefit while adhering to data governance, protection, and management principles.
- Representing the data governance team across analytical groups and business areas to provide advice and support on data infrastructure, data integrity, quality, and privacy.
- Championing and growing awareness and knowledge of data governance to enhance the data culture across the organization.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on data-related issues, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to communicate data risks and administer guidance, training, and educational materials when required.
Skills and Attributes:
- Experience working within a data governance or protection setting.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations, including UK GDPR, PECR, and BCBS239.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships.
- Initiative and ownership of work.
- Communication skills – verbal and written.
- Level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with different functional departments, such as Marketing, Risk, IT, and Security.
