Job Summary:

Spire Healthcare Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a POCT Hub Lead. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of Point of Care Services (POCS) across our hospital network.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of POCS across our hospital network, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with laboratory consultants and pathology managers to ensure the provision of high-quality services in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with national pathology specialists, including the National Pathology Specialist - Point of Care Testing.
  • Work closely with the National Pathology Specialty - Training and Education to ensure that members of the local team undertaking pathology-related educational training receive the necessary support and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement POCS strategies to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of POCS policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the effective implementation of POCS.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of POCS, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant field, such as Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Biomedical Scientist registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience working in a scientific laboratory, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
