We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Scientist to lead our Point of Care Testing (POCT) services and train our team members in this specialized area.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Spire Hartswood Hospital, a 49-bed hospital with 4 theatres, offering a comprehensive range of services and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Organize, manage, and develop services within the pathology department, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Liaise with the Laboratory Consultant and Pathology Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective service provision.
- Take a lead role in ensuring the safety of hospital Point of Care Services (POCT) and collaborate with the National Pathology Specialist - Point of Care Testing.
- Liaise with the National Pathology Specialty - Training and Education regarding team members undertaking pathology-related educational training.
- Degree qualified in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent, allowing eligibility for Associate Membership of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
- Biomedical Scientist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
- Experience in a scientific laboratory, with a strong focus on performance-driven culture and safe standards.
- Ability to meet financial and budgetary targets, with experience in independent sector and strategic commercial awareness.
- Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in innovative solution development for new pathology services.
