Senior Database Solutions Architect

At ENGINEERINGUK, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in relational and non-relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, and similar databases.
  • Provide thought leadership and technical guidance to customers and internal stakeholders on database architecture, design, and best practices.
  • Work closely with other technical specialists to develop and maintain best practices for database solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and innovative.

Requirements:

  • Experience with relational and non-relational database implementations, operations, and solution deployment in a business-critical, high-availability context.
  • Technical degree in computer science, software engineering, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of modern software development practices, such as agile methodologies and DevOps.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
  • AWS certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Database Specialty.
