Operational Supervisor Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor to join our Environmental and Operational Services team at South Holland District Council. As an Operational Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining, integrating, and improving the delivery of operational services, ensuring they are delivered in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate a diverse team of front-line staff, leading them through challenging situations.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Council to ensure the continuity of day-to-day operational services.
  • Monitor and improve the delivery of operational services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, customers, and external partners.
  • Use initiative and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues and make informed decisions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of leading, supervising, and motivating a team, with a track record of driving excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Category C driving licence with a valid drivers CPC.
  • Use of Microsoft Office and confident in navigating a range of computer systems & in-cab technology.
  • Demonstrable experience of HSE and understanding of HR policies and principles.
