Join Our Team as an Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

We are excited to present an opportunity for a dedicated professional to become part of our waste management team in the role of Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Specialist.

Your Role: As the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of all machinery within our treatment facilities through both proactive and reactive maintenance strategies.

Your duties will include:

  • Conducting inspections, maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modification, and repair of electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
  • Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team to perform scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance tasks in accordance with company protocols to minimize equipment failures.
  • Investigating equipment malfunctions and executing repairs swiftly to prevent process disruptions.
  • Providing technical guidance based on current industry knowledge and offering support or training to junior technical staff as necessary.

Equipment You Will Work With: You will engage with a variety of machinery, including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, control systems, and more.

On-Call Responsibilities: Participation in a standby rota is required, with appropriate training provided.

What We Expect From You: You should possess a completed apprenticeship with substantial experience in electrical systems, demonstrating a true multi-skilled approach.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Previous electrical apprenticeship experience.
  • ONC/HNC in engineering or NVQ/C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering, along with an upskilling qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3.

We are also keen to develop individuals with mechanical or electrical backgrounds into dual-skilled professionals.

Additional Requirements: Experience with large industrial equipment, particularly in the utilities sector, is advantageous. Knowledge of health and safety regulations is crucial, and physical fitness is necessary for working in confined spaces.

A valid driving license is mandatory, and all required tools and vehicles will be supplied.
