About the Role

Sprint Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile HGV Technician / Plant Mechanic to join their team as a Fleet Maintenance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained above the minimum standards required by the DVSA between scheduled service/inspection dates to support existing third-party servicing arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide standby and out of hours callout cover when required
  • Ensure vehicle chassis and associated vehicle auxiliary engine are maintained in line with the service planner and company policies
  • Have the opportunity to work on a range of vehicles from light commercial to HGV vehicles and RCVs
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance at all times
Requirements
  • Experienced mechanic (Level 2 plus qualified desirable)
  • Familiar with diagnostic systems
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics and pneumatics, Municipal vehicles, construction vehicles and HGV or similar
  • Knowledge of HGV chassis manufacturers and specialist equipment mounted on vehicles (desirable)
  • Hold a Category C / Class 2 driving licence is desirable
What We Offer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a well-established nationwide fleet service company, with a competitive salary of £48,000 - £50,500 plus Van - paid door to door plus overtime. The role offers a Monday - Friday Days schedule, with the opportunity to work on a range of vehicles and equipment.
