Job Title: Apprentice Information Governance Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate Information Governance Team as an Apprentice Information Governance Officer.

About the Role:

  • Assist in ensuring the Council's compliance with information governance standards, including legislation and policy.
  • Develop knowledge of Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Records Management, and data security practices.
  • Collaborate with the team to retrieve and prepare information for release under Data Protection legislation and Freedom of Information requests.
  • Ensure records are kept in a secure manner and in compliance with legislative requirements for retention and destruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist in responding to Freedom of Information requests and Data Subject Access Requests.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective information governance practices.
