Job Description

Financial Support Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Perform bookkeeping, invoicing, and budget tracking tasks, utilizing accounting software to streamline processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are correctly recorded, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes, identifying areas for efficiency and implementing solutions.
  • Bank reconciliation for all client accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Opening and closing of client accounts, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to security protocols.
  • Payment requests on online banking system, ensuring timely and secure transactions.
  • Reporting of client account balances to operations, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Revaluation of client accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Resolving queries in a timely manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Liaising with operations and banks when necessary, maintaining effective communication.
  • Working on improvements for efficiency, identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as and when required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Support Specialist should have:

  • A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with a strong understanding of financial principles and regulations.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail, with experience in financial roles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, with a commitment to compliance.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed, with excellent communication skills.
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and legislation, with a commitment to staying up-to-date.

  • Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 per annum, with a generous benefits package.
  • Permanent Position, with hybrid working (2 or 3 days in the office) and flexible working (start and finish time negotiable).
