Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Assistant to join our team at Holroyd Howe. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food service to students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy dining environment, and contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service Delivery: Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner, adhering to established menus and recipes.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain the cleanliness of front-of-house areas, including organizing dishes and utensils, and ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies, notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Ideally, have experience working within education catering or a similar environment.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Possess good health and safety knowledge and understanding.
  • Flexibility and Teamwork: Be flexible with a can-do attitude, customer-focused, and a team player who enjoys succeeding as a part of a team.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate excellent organization skills and great attention to detail.
  • Customer Service Skills: Possess great customer service skills and a flexible approach to work.
