Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 12 years of experience in Security Engineering.
• Proficient in application security methodologies.
• Familiarity with NIST 80053 security controls for both hardware and software.
• Experience in DevSecOps, including secure configurations and automated testing for vulnerabilities.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, .Net, and various scripting languages.
• Skilled in developing test plans and conducting acceptance testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in Identity and Access Management.
• Extensive experience in conducting security risk assessments.
• Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to implement and troubleshoot security measures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in auditing and assessing application security design.
• Hands-on knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and cloud security practices.
• Compliance experience, particularly with HIPAA, is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of firewall policies and application security frameworks.
• Knowledge of network security architecture.
• Ability to design and implement security controls.
• Establish security best practices and review vendor designs for compliance with established security standards.
• Provide expertise in application security engineering.
• Manage test cases and assess risks related to system integrations.
• Monitor and investigate security incidents using security tools.
• Lead the resolution of security incidents effectively.
• Advise on security best practices in Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and ensure vendor compliance with security standards.
• Develop security configurations for the ESINET Network Technology.
• Participate in the implementation of security controls within a Public Safety ESINET and NENA compliant NG911 system.
• Ensure adherence to National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO) standards during NG911 implementation.
