About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Centralised Resource Planning Manager to join our Operations Team. This role will play a critical part in optimising the allocation of work within our Assurance and Business Services teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Resource Allocation Efficiency by effectively measuring the utilisation of our resources—such as staff hours, skills, and equipment—to avoid both over- and under-utilisation across our Business Services and Audit projects.

This role will also focus on maintaining an optimal workload distribution among team members, tracking the average time taken to allocate resources, and initiating projects promptly after requests are made.

By prioritising timely project initiation, the Centralised Resource Planning Manager will help minimise delays in service delivery, ultimately enhancing our overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage the Business Services and Audit resource managing process
  • Work with managers to provide details on client codes, time needed, level, specialist knowledge required, deadlines, and budget information
  • Review budgets and challenge managers if time requested doesn't equate to budget or level of team
  • Manage the resource planner document and allocate jobs to team members, ensuring a smooth and consistent tracking process
  • Prioritise resource allocation based on genuine business needs
About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Confident and skilled verbal and written communicator
  • Forecasting and capacity planning skills to predict future resource needs
  • Workload management skills to allocate resources effectively
  • Ability to cultivate trusted advisor relationships with practitioners and team members
  • Pragmatic problem solver with ability to handle resource conflicts and offer solutions
  • Financial acumen with understanding of budgets, billing, and financial impacts
  • Knowledge of resource planning tools, such as resource management software, MS Project, Excel, IRIS, or specific accountancy planning tools
  • Adaptability to respond to changing client demands and shifting priorities
  • Compliance awareness with understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the UK accounting sector
