About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a Special Needs Secondary School in Luton. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a tailored curriculum to mixed-aged classes and abilities, adapting to the varying range of abilities and complexities presented by students.
  • Provide support to pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and other challenges affecting their learning and confidence.
  • Address individual needs related to language comprehension, writing, organization, and other difficulties impacting learning.
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work, ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced.
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered.
About You

We are looking for a secondary SEN teacher with:

  • QTS or PGCE Qualification
  • Experience within a UK secondary school environment
  • Previous experience working with children in a special school environment with complex needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for supporting students' learning journeys
  • A willingness to develop professionally in a collaborative and dynamic educational environment
  • Initiative and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges
