Role Responsibilities

The Financial Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of CDIO's financial reporting systems.

The successful applicant will work closely with cross-departmental teams to guarantee timely and precise financial reporting, while also pinpointing areas for process enhancements and applying best practices.


Key Duties:
As a Financial Accountant or Financial Accountant (Assets) in In-Year Reporting & Control, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in the month-end processes and meetings for IT department consolidation, identifying reasons for fluctuations and discrepancies.

- Ensuring essential month-end control verification for forecasts and budgets, collaborating with Finance Management teams and HMRC Finance.

- Creating financial reporting packages, utilizing Power BI and Power Query, while driving ongoing improvements and automation.

- Leading the recharges process, including continuous enhancement, verification, and automation.

- Monitoring and challenging benefits and efficiency reporting.

- Delivering, tracking, and reviewing asset assurance commissions, ensuring consistency and best practices in partnership with Finance Management teams.


- Managing the asset under construction (AUC) assurance processes and capitalisation, providing subject matter expertise and fostering relationships with the project finance community.

- Conducting balance sheet evaluations, including the validation of accruals and prepayments across CDIO.

- Coordinating audit activities and ensuring the collection of audit evidence.

- Providing assurance on commitments, provisions, and contingent liabilities.

- Maintaining system structures, including the chart of accounts and approval hierarchy.

- Performing line management responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant with a CCAB qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ACA) or currently pursuing one of these qualifications.

- Proficient in financial reporting tools such as PowerBI, PowerQuery, or advanced Excel.

- Demonstrated experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.

- Proven track record in establishing and nurturing strong working relationships with stakeholders.

- Experience in leveraging financial data to support strategic decision-making processes.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Background in asset management reporting.

- Previous experience within an IT/Digital function, particularly in financial roles.
