Job Summary:

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic Head of Year to join our school's established and effective Pastoral Team. The successful candidate will lead a cohort of up to 240 pupils, promoting excellent behaviour, personal development, progress, and welfare. The role requires resilience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to promoting a positive work ethic and team spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a whole year group, promoting high expectations, high standards, and a positive culture and ethos that praises and celebrates all aspects of pupil achievement.
  • Take key responsibility for the behaviour, personal development, progress, and welfare of all pupils in the year group.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote pupil engagement, motivation, and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 5+ A*-C grades at GCSE (or equivalent) including English and maths.
  • Experience of working in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for education.
