About the Role

The Crisis Resolution team is a critical component of the mental health care system in New Zealand, providing urgent and acute care to individuals in need. As a member of this team, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group of professionals to deliver high-quality care and services to clients, their families, and whānau.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize patients in a timely manner, utilizing your skills and experience in assessment and case management.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, their whānau, primary care providers, community supports, and inpatient teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals in need, utilizing your knowledge and skills in mental health.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health and crisis resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote quality care and services.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope.
  • Qualified Social Workers with a minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health will also be considered.
  • Skills and experience in assessment and case management.
  • A full New Zealand driver's license.
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Ideal candidates will be Duly Authorized Officers who have been trained and signed off as being able to facilitate the Mental Health Act; if not currently a DAO, applicants will be willing to undertake this paid three-day DAO training as provided by the Waitaha Canterbury.
