About Ambient Support:
Ambient Support is a registered charity in the UK, boasting over 25 years of experience in delivering care and support services to older adults, individuals with mental health challenges, and those with learning disabilities. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Workers to assist 8 residents with complex learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional and social support, both at home and within the community.
- Assisting residents with personal care, including hygiene needs when necessary.
- Supporting residents with shopping and budgeting tasks.
- Fostering and maintaining relationships with residents' friends and family.
- Performing household duties such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Engaging in outdoor activities, meals, and other experiences that residents wish to enjoy.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities, including Autism, is preferred, but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
- A calm, caring demeanor with a positive attitude is essential.
- Empathy, sensitivity, and a strong understanding of others' needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- A valid driver's license is advantageous but not required.
