Job Summary

The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced TSSU Supervisor to join our Theatre Decontamination Unit team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring that all instruments are correctly accounted for and tracked post-procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Line management of TSSU Staff
  • Ensure that contaminated reusable medical devices (Instruments) are processed according to departmental policies and off-site decontamination unit guidelines.
  • Track reusable medical devices according to national guidance.
  • Liaise with Theatre Leads to ensure timely processing and availability of instruments for planned surgery.
  • Ensure contractual obligations of off-site decontamination unit are met, including turnaround times and quality standards.
  • Inform Theatre Coordinator of expected turnaround times not achieved.
  • Process and track loan kits according to local procedures.
  • Provide advice, training, and support to Decontamination Technicians and Theatre Scrub staff.
Requirements
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Previous experience in Theatre, Decontamination, or Stores
  • Full understanding of decontamination process
  • Good computer and numeracy skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A high level of communication skills
  • Flexibility in response to departmental needs
  • Ability to deliver high-level customer service to Theatre staff and Consultants
