We are seeking an EMEA Lead ICS/OT Security Engineer to be part of our Manufacturing Strategy – Automation team. This position focuses on the protection and upkeep of our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) throughout the EMEA region, working in conjunction with teams across North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of ICS/OT networks and systems. This includes managing the Process Control Network (PCN), Process Data Historian (PDH), and manufacturing OT DMZ. You will troubleshoot issues, propose solutions, and conduct routine administration at both the infrastructure and application levels. Your duties will encompass ensuring optimal performance and maintenance of OT systems at manufacturing sites, overseeing technical processes to enhance operations, and maintaining security to mitigate cyber threats. Collaboration with site operations and maintenance teams will be essential to support these initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Maintain system design documentation and asset inventories for the site ICS/OT environment, including the OT DMZ and Process Control Networks.
    • Ensure the integrity of network architecture and dataflow diagrams.
    • Support virtual environments, including hardware, Hypervisor, Virtual Machines, and Host Hardware.
    • Assist with software installations and compliance, working closely with the local IT team.
    • Coordinate backup and recovery processes effectively.
    • Provide technical maintenance for network infrastructure and endpoints.
  • System Oversight:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot Endpoint & Anti-Virus solutions within the OT/ICS environments.
    • Assist with application patching and upgrades.
    • Troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Support site historian systems, laboratory information management systems, and analytics software.
    • Maintain interfaces between local and enterprise historians.
  • Project Coordination and Communication:
    • Engage in OT/ICS projects, collaborating with capital projects, researchers, and management while balancing tasks and priorities.
    • Communicate effectively with end users, support teams, and management.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in IT and Operational Technology systems administration and maintenance.
  • A 4-year degree in a STEM field is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with Industrial Control Systems in Manufacturing and knowledge of ICS Operational Technology Components.
  • Relevant network training and/or certifications (e.g., CCENT, NETWORK+).
  • ICS/OT training and/or certifications (e.g., ISA, SANS, NIST).
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining Process Data Historian (AspenTech IP21).
  • Familiarity with computer network structures and Industrial network design, particularly with ICS vendors such as Siemens, Rockwell, and ABB-Symphony.
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols like Profibus and Modbus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 25%).

  • Proven experience in leading, coordinating, or managing projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with users and management at various levels.
  • Proficient in analysis, organization, and critical thinking.
