We are seeking an EMEA Lead ICS/OT Security Engineer to be part of our Manufacturing Strategy – Automation team. This position is pivotal in ensuring the security of our Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) across the EMEA region, working collaboratively with teams from North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of ICS/OT networks and systems. This includes managing the Process Control Network (PCN), Process Data Historian (PDH), and the manufacturing OT DMZ. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, identifying solutions, and conducting routine administration at both the infrastructure and application levels. You will ensure the optimal performance and upkeep of OT systems at manufacturing sites, oversee technical processes to enhance operations, and maintain security measures to mitigate cyber risks. Close collaboration with site operations and maintenance teams will be essential to support these initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Maintenance:
    • Maintain system design documentation and asset inventories for the site ICS/OT environment, including the OT DMZ and Process Control Networks.
    • Ensure network architecture and dataflow diagrams are up to date.
    • Support virtual environments, including hardware, Hypervisor, Virtual Machines, and Host Hardware.
    • Assist with software installations and compliance, working alongside the local IT team.
    • Coordinate backup and recovery processes effectively.
    • Provide technical maintenance for network infrastructure and endpoints.
  • System Management:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot Endpoint & Anti-Virus solutions within the OT/ICS environments.
    • Assist with application patching and upgrades.
    • Troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Support site historian systems, laboratory information management systems, and analytics software.
    • Maintain interfaces between local and enterprise historians.
  • Project Management and Communication:
    • Engage in OT/ICS projects, collaborating with capital projects, researchers, and management while balancing tasks and priorities.
    • Communicate effectively with end users, support teams, and management.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in IT and Operational Technology systems administration and maintenance.
  • A 4-year degree in a STEM field is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with Industrial Control Systems in Manufacturing and knowledge of ICS Operational Technology Components.
  • Relevant network training and/or certifications (e.g., CCENT, NETWORK+).
  • ICS/OT training and/or certifications (e.g., ISA, SANS, NIST).
  • Experience with Process Data Historian (AspenTech IP21).
  • Familiarity with computer network structures and Industrial network design, including ICS vendors such as Siemens, Rockwell, and ABB-Symphony.
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols like Profibus and Modbus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 25%).

  • Proven experience in leading, coordinating, or managing projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with users and management at various levels.
  • Proficient in analysis, organization, and critical thinking.
