Job Summary

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal and contractual support to the Tendering activities of the DOF Company, including review, qualification, and negotiation of Terms and Conditions of Contract. This role will also involve liaison with the Company's Insurers to ensure alignment between Contract provisions and existing global policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and contractual support to the Project execution activities of the DOF Company, including guidance and support in the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes with Clients.
  • Ensure that contractual and legal documents are prepared in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage Variation Orders and provide legal and contractual support to the Procurement activities of the DOF Company, including assessing the validity of Subcontractor VOR claims.
  • Provide advice and support in relation to the establishment of supplier agreements and placement of Purchase Orders.
  • Provide legal advice and support to the DOF Company covering areas including corporate, insurance, contract, dispute resolution, employment, migration, and injury management.

Requirements

Education:

A relevant law degree is required.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Significant relevant experience in a senior legal role in a major company, preferably within the international energy industry and/or from recognized law firms.
  • Strong legal knowledge and understanding of contract law.
  • Strong negotiations skills combined with commercial understanding.
  • Analytical and structured, with the ability to work independently and within short deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within an international team of professionals.

Within the DOF Group (internal):

  • Global Legal, Tax, and Insurance Function (Legal department DOF Group).
  • Multiple Departmental Heads, but specifically Commercial, Projects, and Procurement.

Outside the DOF Group (external):

  • Client.
  • Sub-contractors.
  • Company's Insurers.
