Role Responsibilities:
In your role as a Cost Estimator, you will assist the Managing & Senior Estimators in formulating estimates for a diverse range of surfacing projects. Your key duties will encompass:
  • Analyzing client drawings and specifications to create precise cost sheets for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Evaluating design alternatives and pinpointing value-driven solutions.
  • Documenting assumptions, recognizing risks and opportunities, and aiding in risk assessment.
  • Collaborating with project team members and suppliers to comprehend proposed methodologies and principles.

Additionally, you will take charge of small to medium-sized bids, ensuring that tender submissions are completed efficiently and punctually. This includes:
  • Adhering to company protocols.
  • Examining tender documents and submission criteria.
  • Establishing and agreeing on key rates.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of subcontractor proposals.

Candidate Profile:
  • A professional with prior experience in estimating roles within the highways or civil engineering sectors.
  • A candidate possessing strong financial insight and proficiency in software applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation:
Competitive salary range of £55,000 - £75,000 based on experience.
