Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled highway designer to play a pivotal role in our expanding traffic and transportation division. The successful candidate will lead the development of preliminary designs (RIBA Stage 1-3) while collaborating with our existing team, providing technical expertise, and contributing to the future growth of our business.

Our firm specializes in creating active travel, public realm, traffic, and transportation projects, as well as conducting transport planning studies for both public and private sector clients. Our team often engages in the early vision and master planning phases to establish a solid foundation for design projects.

The projects we undertake are diverse, challenging, and frequently high-profile, providing the successful candidate with an engaging and fulfilling work experience, along with numerous opportunities to acquire valuable skills and knowledge.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient in designing highways using AutoCAD, with desirable experience in signal junction design.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (TSRGD, Manual for Streets, LTNs, etc.).
  • Professional experience with Highway Authorities, particularly in London, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Project management experience.
  • Stakeholder and public engagement capabilities.
  • Leadership skills to mentor junior team members.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary consultancies (e.g., urban design).
  • Familiarity with additional software tools, such as:
    • MS Office
