Assistant Professor in Biotechnology

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Professor in Biotechnology to join our Department of Biosciences at Durham University. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in biotechnology and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities- Pursue high-quality research in biotechnology, advancing cellular model systems and making breakthrough biotechnological discoveries.
- Develop and deliver effective teaching and research supervision, contributing to the development of internationally excellent research and teaching.
- Contribute to the administrative work, citizenship, and values of the Department, fostering a respectful environment and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Engage in collaborative research activity, enhancing the quality of the research environment in the Department and beyond.
- PhD in Biosciences or a related subject.
- Experience in biotechnology research and teaching, with a strong track record of publications and research grants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a range of students and colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, with experience in promoting these values in a academic setting.
