Job Title: Assistant Professor in TESOL and Digital Language Learning Technology

Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as an Assistant Professor in TESOL and Digital Language Learning Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, research, and service to the University community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with opportunities to teach more widely within the Department.
  • Pedagogic Activity: Engage in pedagogic activity at Departmental level, supporting a high-quality academic professional community of practice.
  • Scholarship: Contribute to ongoing curriculum development, demonstrating innovation in educational practice to enhance the quality of the educational environment.
  • Service: Contribute to administrative work, citizenship, and values of the Department.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A good first degree and a PhD in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or a related subject, or equivalent demonstrable practitioner experience and skills.
  • Teaching Experience: Evidence of teaching and assessment at an appropriate level in ESOL/EFL/ESL/ESP/EAP or in university education, with positive student feedback and evaluations.
  • Scholarship: Ability to engage in scholarly activity contributing to pedagogical practice and understanding within the department, faculty, and University.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Leadership: Prior relevant leadership roles, such as leading an internal working group, module development, and convening.
