About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a SEMH pupil in a 1:1 setting, providing guidance and care to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to a SEMH pupil in a 1:1 setting, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet the pupil's specific needs, working closely with the teaching staff and other professionals.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that the pupil's needs are met and that they are fully engaged in the learning process.
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making recommendations for future support.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff and other professionals to ensure that the pupil receives a comprehensive and coordinated support package.
Requirements
  • Experience working with SEMH pupils, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of the pupil.
  • Knowledge of behavioral management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement these in a 1:1 setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of support and intervention programs for SEND, with the ability to adapt these to meet the needs of the pupil.
